Why We Need To Invest In Transforming Our Leadership Style

To effectively collaborate, we must build deep trust. With trust established, we are primed to do the work of advancing equity - narrowing the power gap, elevating marginalized voices, safely including non-normative perspectives and generating group genius.

Leaders set the tone of an organization. Through their actions, leaders create culture, catalyze employees and create the conditions for individual and team success. New skills and practices are needed to ensure we are effectively able to juggle the myriad of tasks, changes and challenges our sector faces; while supporting our staff in performing to their highest potential.

In this course, participants will cover a range of leadership topics in a sequence that is intended to support them in learning theories and models of effective leadership in fluid environments. Between workshops, participants will be invited to practice these concepts in real life via the Slack Channel, peer coaching pods and 1-on-1 coaching with the instructor.

In this 6 month, small cohort-based course, emerging leaders will learn, practice and support one another in implementing tools and creative processes to engage diverse groups while ensuring safety of participation, equality of contribution and activation of all participants' thought centers.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Daniel designs and facilitates human-centered solutions to the challenges individuals, teams and organizations face.

Daniel holds a Master's degree in Organizational Development, and is a certified breath coach and yoga instructor. For over 10 years, he has supported diverse individuals, teams and organizations to create positive changes - improving communication, collaboration, and overall performance.

His approach is highly collaborative, working closely with clients to understand their unique needs and challenges, then designing a safe and supportive environment where individuals and teams can explore their strengths and limitations as they develop new skills and strategies for success.

With extensive time spent abroad and deep work experience, Daniel brings a depth of multi-cultural understanding to diverse workplaces. He has extensive experience in start-up organizations, leadership and team development, program design, group facilitation, training, community engagement and public relations.

One of Daniel’s many superpowers is inviting authentic connections in professional settings.

His ethos includes being consistent, caring, and supportive. I cannot say enough about how much these three traits matter when you are tasked with convening people for a purpose.
— Satonya Fair, CEO PEAK Grantmaking
Daniel brought in great energy; he was really funny, energetic, and full of passion. I learned much more than I expected!
— Giuliana Martinez, Workshop Attendee
Daniel was very skilled in the art of leader wrangling. With his leadership, our team was able to accomplish our goals, learn from one another, and decrease silo thinking and behavior. I have a much deeper understanding of the roles and goals of my fellow managers after this workshop. Our team is stronger thanks to his guidance.
— Ruth A Vosmek, LCSW Manager, Kaiser Permanente
Daniel is the ideal partner for high-quality and deeply engaging team and culture development. He is able to meet groups of people where they are collectively and individually and through a mix of mind and heart move things towards greater functioning, clarity, shared understanding and optimism. People feel seen and cared about by Daniel so they open up, becoming more real and put the important things on the table to be addressed. Daniel is able to create the container and the process to take information, context and the wisdom of a group and create transformative spaces. On several different teams and projects, I have benefited from the results created by Daniel’s work. In short, he leaves people, organizations and teams in a better place each time he engages and does so with his signature intelligence, generosity, humility and confidence.
— Sara Davis, Non-Profit/Philanthropic Executive
